Baltimore Mother Targets Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes with her Screenplay, ‘The Third Day’ Chronicling Her Pain About the Silent Killer

Baltimore, MD, December 23, 2019 — ‘The Third Day’- After the death of a rising star athlete, a grief-stricken mother exposes a silent killer of young athletes. Set in Baltimore, the story centers on Tony, a high school football player who succumbs to a hidden heart-defect. Hit with the bombshell that his death was preventable, his mother embarks on a journey in which she loses herself to the grieving process, thus causing a strain on her once blissful marriage. In the end, an act of friendship transcends her loss of faith, and even forgiveness itself. It is a testament to the strength and resilience of a wounded soul. Her soul.

Written by Teleah Moore, the film shines an astonishing trend on the sudden death of young athletes participating in competitive sports while at the same time transforming what is thought about hidden heart defects. Moore aims to bring light to this issue, sound the alarm very loudly, and serve as an amplifier to the already compelling voices of herself and families who have experienced the loss of a son or daughter to sudden cardiac death. Is she against competitive sports? No. But, Moore is undeniably committed to ensuring young athletes are “heart-healthy” to participate in all sports.

“As a parent, there are so many things to worry about when it comes to our kids playing sports. Are they getting enough exercise? Are they having fun? Are they showing good sportsmanship? But, worrying if they’re heart-healthy shouldn’t be on the list.” -Teleah Moore

Moore’s dream cast for the female lead role includes incredible talents, Thandie Newton, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Debbi Morgan. For the male lead role, she would love to work with the likes of Sterling Brown, Dondre Whitfield, and Byron Minns. The storyline carries some mystery and Moore believes Joseph Sikora is more fitting for the actor role. In addition, the film will cast some of the hottest unrecognized talent from Baltimore, Maryland. Moore is currently organizing a fundraiser on GoFundMe to secure her production costs with filming anticipated for 2020.
